While Supercomputing 2021 wrapped up last Thursday, the productive customer and partner conversations we had coupled with key announcements and unexpected awards will power Liqid straight into 2022. Liqid was live at Booth #3001, engaging attendees, delivering a ton of demos, sponsoring a couple of happy hours at booth, and giving away cool swag.

We were excited to announce the release of the world’s first fabric-integrated CDI expansion chassis, the EX-4400 series, that allows us to further extend our promise of simplifying infrastructure deployment and scaling for customers. This is huge news for organizations struggling to meet applicationSLAs due to traditional server infrastructure limitations.

Until now, all CDI solutions required the purchase of a separate PCIe fabric switch, adding complexity and cost. We are proud to be championing a new concept called CDI Simplified where customers can now directly connect servers to the resources they need (GPU, NVMe SSD, storage class memory) and then quickly compose them in via Liqid Matrix software. It is now easier than ever to deploy, expand, and reclaim critical resources with far greater efficiency that traditional server design, accelerating time to value for the world’s most challenging workloads.

However, that’s not all that happened at SC21, we also had the honor of accepting the Top 5 Vendors to Watch Editor’s Choice award from HPCwire. Liqid is joined by the likes of HPE, Arm, AMD, and Intel, also in the Editor’s Top 5.

“Every year it is our pleasure to connect with and honor the HPC community through our Readers’ and Editors’ Choice Awards, and 2021 marked an exceptional showing of industry innovation,” said Tom Tabor, CEO of Tabor Communications, publisher of HPCwire. “Between our worldwide readership of HPC experts and an unparalleled panel of editors, the Readers’ and Editors’ Choice Awards represent resounding recognition throughout the industry. Our congratulations go out to all of the winners.”

But wait, there’s more! We additionally announced at Supercomputing 2021 a new white paper with industry analyst firm Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) to highlight the potential of technologies like Liqid Matrix composable software as part of a sustainable ecosystem for next-generation applications such as artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI+ML), high-performance computing (HPC), cloud- and edge computing environments to drive intelligent global infrastructure expansion.

In the new paper from ESG, entitled Why IT Must Prioritize Sustainability, senior analyst Scott Sinclair and senior research analyst Moya Keane discuss how adaptive, software-defined data center architectures like Liqid Matrix introduce enough operational performance and efficiency sufficient to offer a model for data center flexibility and more sustainable growth for organizations seeking to deploy technologies to solve data center-scale problems.

Despite lower than usual turnout due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the quality of conversations was remarkable. The Liqid team had a wonderful time thanks to the dedication of the SC21 team and is looking forward to SC22 next year in Dallas, Texas.
