Recently Liqid has been working with Western Digital, an industry leader in data storage solutions, to demonstrate their collaborative NVMe-over-Fabric (NVMe-oF) capabilities on Western Digital’s OpenFlexTM open composable platform across low-latency Ethernet.

Liqid Command Center 2.2 software orchestrates for Western Digital’s OpenFlexTM platform in tandem with GPU-oF (GPU over Ethernet) and CPU resources up and down the hardware rack and across multiple racks for multi-petabyte storage capacity at NVMe™ speeds.

Exploiting the OpenFlexTM platform, the two companies are able to meet the demands of even the most data-intensive applications. Orchestrating NVMe-oF over Ethernet using Liqid’s Command Center 2.2 software with the Western Digital’s Open Composable API and OpenFlexTM F3100.

By enabling IT users to aggregate and share large pools of data center resources over distance, while also allowing for more granular resource management and automation at the stack level, Western Digital and Liqid showcase an expansive composable system designed to dynamically maximize resource utilization and performance wherever physical hardware resides, across Ethernet, PCIe, and other industry-standard fabrics.

As the industry develops new strategies to scale for emerging applications in AI, edge computing, and dynamic cloud deployments, solutions like those offered by Western Digital and Liqid provide a compelling way to seed bare-metal dynamic capabilities across compute environments to maximize efficiency, simplicity, and scalability while driving the highest resource utilization possible for all our customers.
